OBE?
I was wondering if anyone can give advice on OBEing. Specifically i can get into the vibrational state and am able to get out of my body somewhat. That's sort of on and off though I know with practice it will get easier. The thing is I've heard and had experiences where there are weird demonic things around usually looking at me (or the person I'm reading about). Is there anyway to stop this from happening, where they will just ignore me or disappear. If not, is there some way I can make some other figure that is more comforting appear. I'm religious by the way, but don't believe that they are actual demons or anything or are even real at times. I'm more on the border of that part. It's just that after I have the experience with these things I keep thinking about and the next time i want to do it i worry that the things will be looking at me again. I need help i guess, to help get over the fear. Any advice or techniques? :?
I had a false awakening on the 24th in which there was an evil presence in my room. It's been a while since that has happened, but it's fresh on my mind again. I argued with him and realized he was an amalgamation of every dream character I have ever subconsciously conceived of. It was scary, but I won by being experienced and conquered my fears.
I kicked his butt! I dug my fingers into his eyes and pulled them down, like ripping off a mask, and saw electronics inside under his skin and he was just a robot. (It was crazy and we'll all have different experiences). But the bottom line is, there is nothing wrong with getting angry and fighting back. I feel an inner peace after that experience.
Thanks Haggart. I guess that might actually work. I feel a bit stupid not having thought of that myself, but if anything creepy appears I'll be sure to try hitting it back or something like that
Whether they are real or not it doesnt matter as even if they are real these things can be usually easily dealt with and most these things will flee if one hasnt any fear of them and faces up to them (real demons if you believe in those, feed on fear, anger etc).
You can try treating them as if they are just images as in if you were LD eg try to change them into something else eg I once had a scary red eyed demon in a LD in which I changed to an innocent young boy.
If I come across a demon in an OBE (my OBE stuff tends to be real) I will confront it.. some things like the shadow beings actually hate being spotted and will just flee. Other demons I will try to project love and divine light their way.. they generally hate that and that will cause most to just flee (that worked quite well on a hag kind of demon for me and has worked well on too on incubus's/succubus type of demons). If worst comes to worst use your religious beliefs to help you to deal eg order the demon to leave in the name of Christ or whatever (for me that dont work but if you have strong Christian beliefs it may do so).
Anyway.. no matter what these beings are.. in my experience most of them generally dont carry much power at all and you should have the upper hand, just try not to be afraid of them.
Grey beings (those ones which people associate with UFOs).. are fairly weak.
If you come across a reptilian thou in your OBEs.. take care.. I have found those kind of demons troublesome (and acting aggressively towards those can cause them to retaliate and start getting to you during the night when you are vulnerable). Best not to do things to annoy those which will get their attention. I was tortured by those after I'd become too big for my boots one could say and purposely tried to stir them up one time when I came across them while OBE as I had truely thought they couldnt do anything to me. They arent physical so who cares.. but soon found I was wrong when they came and taught me a lesson some time later.
Egyptian demons eg the ones which guard some tombs etc.. you shouldnt come across one unless you mess with things you shouldnt while in an OBE. Some of those can be powerful (I had one of those almost kill me one time).. but as I said, you should never come across these unless you mess with things which you obviously shouldnt mess with. ...
As I said thou.. if just a LD subconcious image.. nothing to fear and even if it isnt.. its usually nothing to fear anyway.. 80-90+ of real other plane beings are easy to deal with.
Yes, you might want to be careful of entities in the dream world. I once met an 'ascended master' or it claimed to be, who seemed to want to guide me. My first impression was "Why Me?" I mean, I'm nobody special. Just because lucid dreaming has been my normal dream state since I was 10, it was just the way it has always been. (I thought that's how everybody was until I was in high school and they mentioned it in psychinc class) But there was something off and as it gave me a guided tour, there was an undertone of greed or subtle malevolence. It was like it was feeding off my energy or something. So I asked right out "What are you really?" and it would not answer, so I told it "be gone from me" and it sort of vanished. It kind of crumbled in on itself, like it got smaller and smaller as if it were moving away fast, but at the same time didn't move at all.

Yes, I have seen them. But I walked among them and they didn't seem to even know I was there. Maybe I was too insignificant. The ones that had it out for me were the shadow people, but after a confrontation with them, they never bothered me again.
As for OOBE, I had them in college. I always wondered why I could go through walls, and fly away through roofs, but I never sank into the ground. Sorry I can not "Prove It Scientifically". You will just take my word for it.
Hey abart,
Eventually, you will learn to love sleep paralysis, and it won't frighten you as much,
As a master lucid dreamer, I can say that I love the sensations of sleep paralysis.
As a master lucid dreamer. Lucidity Master who gave you that title? You come across as a very conceited know all. Helping beginners is great, that why we have the forum. To say that you might divulge secrets to a chosen few is not what this website is about. That said I do wish you will be able to help a lot dreamers to become lucid. :)
A lucid dreaming master is someone who can lucid dream at will (whenever he wants).
I have learned to do this, using hybrid techniques.
I am not just giving myself a label, I am stating the truth (I have mastered lucid dreaming).
I prefer a humble Jedi like Yoda than a self proclaimed "Master" that's only stroking their own ego with self-gratifying titles which are just mental trophies nobody else can see, or care about. ;)
I am just here to help people.
I want to inspire them to reach the same level of lucid dreaming ability.
One person wrote me a pm saying he was inspired by my name, and wanted to lucid dream at will.
Sorry, but I don't see what's wrong with healthy self confidence
Self confidence is important in lucid dreaming; belief can significantly impact one's lucid dreaming rate.
I am a confident master lucid dreamer, and I accept that.
I respect your opinion, and a name is just a name, and nothing more.
Yoda I am. Stupid, I'm not. Question, I will.
Hagart, I respect you, and think you are a cool guy.
Why do you have to turn this into a war?
This thread was about OBEs.
I deleted that other post I made. You're alright and only trying to help. I shouldn't make fun of your mysterious, esoteric club or the way you write sentences instead of paragraphs.
Let others decide what they pick and choose to learn from here, and what they find valuable. I was out of line and I apologize. Freedom of expression is the number one priority here, and you never said anything negative.
Everything's cool, Hagart. :)
I wish you the best of luck
I agree with Erichsa though. You do come across as a conceited know it all. I'm not trying to cause a conflict, but keep in mind how you are perceived by others when you are writing your replies in the future. I'm a tolerant person, but I know a few others who are getting annoyed.
This has nothing to do with the original post, and I didn't want to take over this thread, but I felt it was important to let you know that in case you weren't aware of how you are presenting yourself to others.
I understand where you are coming from :D
I will try to represent myself differently in the future.
To bring it back to the topic, how many officers of the British Empire do you guys know?
[ Post made via Android ] Image
I finally get it. The main topic wasn't about Officers of the British Empire though.
It was to do with mysterious minions these officers send out to haunt us when we are trying to sleep. Some blame it on hypnagogic hallucinations with an overactive emotional response caused by the Amygdala....
But that's nonsense, and I see your point now. I blame the Brits!
LMAO! Thanks for clarifying the topic for me!
I'll ACTUALLY bring this back on-topic, unless people have a problem discussing lucid dreams here. ;)
The last time I had an 'unwelcome visitor' that I fought and dealt with was the one I mentioned earlier, Christmas Day 2013. It's been 8 months and it just so happened again last night. It's quite rare for me and I haven't seen a 'shadow being' in particular since way back in April 2012! Here's what happened and my thoughts about it:
Sometime within the first hour of sleep, I had a creepy sleep paralysis episode. I don't remember what I was thinking about, but I suddenly was overcome with negative thoughts and I felt a sinister presence and the sheets tighten around me and I think I saw pillows or cushions suddenly in my vision as if I was being constricted and smothered by it all. I could still breath, and thought to myself, how negative thoughts are like having a bad entity around you even when awake, but it's more prevalent in a dream when you can truly see and feel it. I just relaxed and tried to think happy thoughts to see if the pillows and weight and entity would vanish.
Then I was in a bed again and realized it had just been a false awakening, and this was a real one. (But it wasn't). I felt a poking sensation in my feet as though it was coming from an external entity, but I relaxed and analyzed the feeling and it was like when I watch my dog's feet twitch slightly when he dreams and nothing more. I began to think happy thoughts and my body was swaying forward and back, head to toe direction. I felt like I was in the bedroom at a different house I use to live in from my childhood, and every time I was in an upswing, I could see into my brother's room where he too was in his bed looking back and me. He was a child the same age he was when we lived in that house. Each time I poked my head to see, I made a funny expression to amuse him, and then change it when I was on the downswing, and reappear with a different one. Then I noticed some money on a counter that I instinctively knew was birthday money I had just received. I made a dumb expression of surprise, overacting whenever I swung close to it acting like a clown for my brother's amusement.
Then I woke up for real and checked the time. I was a little creeped out, but excited at the same time.
If I hadn't gotten duped by the false awakenings that would have been an OBE, WILD or whatever term you choose to call it. I've had quite a few, so I know. Most of the time the paralysis episode is without incident, but this time I had an 'unwelcome visit'.
I was completely goofy like a child and full of emotion with only a slight memory of who I am and my sense of place was from my childhood too. (Except for when I was in a vibrant false awakening and got annoyed by my cousin). That reinforces my belief that our Amygdalas (primitive brain) goes hay-wire during the sleep paralysis stage of sleep, and if we are aware during it.... odd things can be experienced. The Amygdala is responsible for emotional reactions and I just learned recently they also contain basic instinctual sense of self and memories. There's a lot of information connecting the two on the internet and I'm no expert on it, but I'm pretty sure I'm right.
If you see anything in particular during your hallucinations it's due to archetypal memories or just plain old beliefs. If I'm wrong, send a reptilian demon my way to haunt me in my dreams. I would love to have a good chat, and bounce some of these ideas of it.
I do not remember the dreams, but my parents used to tell me years later that when I was 5 & 6 I would have to wake them up and tell them about my recurring dream. I would be too excited to sleep until I shared or something. I told them that I had gone for a ride in the big boats that would rise up into the sky. We would look down on the earth and marvel at how amazing it was. The people manning the boats wore roman armor with helmets, male and female both. The boats were pointed at both ends like a huge viking ship, but it was like an upside-down one covering the together so we couldn't fall out. They told me that if fire ever fell from the sky they would come get me. I was a friend and these trips were joyous occasions. It made me so happy that I had to wake up my parents and tell them of another adventure in the boats. They kidded me about it for years to come once I stopped having those dreams.
My dad worked at a TV Station, so for some reason he wouldn't have a TV in the house. But later we got one and watching Bugs Bunny there was something sort of familiar, so I thought of these skyfarers as "Marvins" because Marvin the Martian wore roman armor and a helmet a lot like them. But they wore Greek helmets with lemon shaped eye holes.

native Americans traveled on skyboats, these where visions of your past.
you will be safe when the world ends, they will come back for you.
what an amazing dream:)

I still don't understand why they wore the breastplates though.

Nawick fun story about the unsidedown flying ships. The Roman helmets were Attic helmets, also greek in origin, the helmets with the sometimes lemon shaped eye holes are Corinthian helmets. The rare Roman breastplates were also imitations of Greek ones.

I think in terms of neurology this is wrong. The waking brain acts something like this: stimlus; to thalamus (which judges whether it's exciting or not; the thalamus then sends signals to the amygdala and cortex (in that order), with the amygdala mobilizing the body; the anterior insular cortex then desides what sort of "excitement" one is having and triggers emotional responses to it, while the cortex in general observes, analyzes and plans a response. Assuming it's something frightful and one is foolish one does not think and just bolts in terror (if its a predator by bolting they trigger attack instincts), while if more intelligent one observes the threat, analyzes it and comes up with a plan to deal with it or if if the threat is extremely immediate one does not have time for all that and freezes and maybe gets out a "no" or scream before being destroyed.
Dreams don't follow the standard brain process though, they start in the white matter of the brain, then go to other parts including the limpic systems (of which the amygdala is one) so normally the cortex would have dreams before the amygdala. What likely happens in SP experiences is: that one falls almost immediately into REM dreams triggering REM muscle atonia; which the thalamus decides is exciting; triggers the amygdala and the gut reaction of the anterior insular cortex (AKA anterior insulae) to sudden immobility is fear creating the sleep paralysis dream. Naturally as the amygdala helps create emotion memory it can intensify that emotion, as people experiencing the SP experience more than once incubate fear during future SPE.

Lucidity master, it has almost been a year since I posted this, and over the course of time I have had many SP experiences, and can agree that doing this can be fun and that the feeling are almost mesmerizing. I think realizing that this euphoric feeling exists within SP; I'm glad I stuck to it and really developed the skill of controlling whatever went on. Thanks for all your comments, everyone!
