Dream Riddle

A dream character said this to me: Are dreams just a dream within a dream? This riddle has fascinated me since I heard it, but I have no idea what it could mean. Any serious or funny ideas on what my dream character was talking about?

It means life is a dream: That way your dreams are dreams inside a dream

Reading this really gives me goose bumps. Then again so does most of the things i read here. I tried to wrap my head around this and i just get more goosebumps.

Haha, try to think about it while lucid dreaming, maybe it helps. Or ask dream characters?

I'm sure we all ask at one point whether life is just one big dream of someones. But if that is the case, who is the dreamer? Are we all just dream characters?
