What is your most enjoyable way to fly? Have you ever let go of trying to control where you are flying or where you want to go? Have you ever felt the feeling of a force wrapping their warm hands around your chest and pulling you up into the beautiful sky?

As you can tell, this is my most favorable way of flying. The only way this happens to me is when I ask my inner consciouness a question and let it direct me to where they want me to be. I have learned many things by doing this and it has led me to people that I know, people I have just met had the pleasure of interacting with on the internet and to close spirits that have passed, to my future, to my past, to my soul mate, to my purpose. I have never grown so much in my life then when I have been dreaming. It has made me realize that this is a lucid life and this too is our playground.

Has anyone else have a different way of flying? Or a dream that has led you to finding yourself? I would love to interact with you and share our expereinces!!

Yes i've experienced this also, and usually land in some place where i'm supposed to learn something.

Other ways of flying are more to do with method, like flapping arms or feet (often tiring), jet propelling energy from your feet, base chakra, or stomach.. flying with people, racing for fun, flying with an animal, piggy back style flying, doing flips in the air, dancing while flying, singing while flying, teaching children how to fly, attempting to fly to other countries, the sun or the moon..

If you think i'm being a brat you're right, i fly too much and recently a wise lucid character advised me to moderate my flying, that i must walk the rugged path, otherwise i won't learn anything!

I heard some people can even travel in space with this technique.

I love flying in my dreams I always look forward to it. I like to float fly indoor and soar outside. I like to dip and weave almost like a bird but don't use my arms that much. Sometimes it feels like there's jet power coming from my feet or like I'm floating on water except it's air.

Hi Maya, I am so glad that you have also had experiences like this. Have you heard of Beverly D'Urso? She also has had dreams like this too and reading her essays and speaches have really helped me create the most out of these amazing moments. I have also had other different types of flying dreams, and actually most people get started with wanting to lucid dream because they want to fly! I have not yet sang yet while flying, I must try that! Thanks for the idea!

Have you ever tried to meditate in a lucid dream? I only have done this once so far and the effects were so different that I scared myself out of sticking with it. I have a problem with trying new things and going through with them in my dreams, seeming that I always go back to flying. You are right about your wise dream character, flying isn't everything you can do in your lucid dreams but it sure is one of the most exhilirating feelings and thrills I have experienced!

Hi DTommy,

I have traveled to space in my dreams. I have to say it is quite strange, lol. I have been on a spaceship and went to another planet. But, my most recent and by far the best space dream was flying up with a few of my close friends and just experiencing the transition between space and the sky was amazing and looking over the earth (kind of freaky!) and realizing that you can experience anything you can possibly think of, even while your dreaming! :)

Hi Angel Dreams,

I want to try the feeling of having jet powered feet!! That sounds like so much fun!

I mainly make myself levitate into the air xD But if that doesn't work, I give myself wings, or (THIS IS AWESOME), fly a dragon into the air, then jump off, and I'm flying!

What a touching romantic way to fly alucidlife. TY for sharing. Personally I raise my arms and flap my fingers to fly- much more comical than your method. For insightful dreams I had a recurring nightmare where I was a werewolf hunter trying to save a town from a werewolf, in which I look into a lake only to see that my own reflection is that of the werewolf I'm hunting. These nightmares taught me that I had become what I had fought in real life to protect others (human versions of werewolves rather than real werewolves ;) ). so sad to need to be told that in nightmares again and again.

When I was younger, I always had a hard time flying. I would fly like superman, and then I would crash. So I read in Robert Waggoner's book a new technique, and the other night I finally got to try it and it works great. While in the air, look at where you want to go, and say out loud " i want to go there" and immediately you get pulled toward it. In my dream I pointed both my arms at where I wanted to go. I said the words and I flew right to it with ease. I then did it again, and it worked perfectly.

My last flight a week ago was on my back in the night sky, head first. I was instantly flying with almost no effort. I had no idea where I was going, but it felt so incredible it didn't really matter. Just to feel the sensations of flying are fantastic!

I flew like I was iron-man once, had little control then phased through the ground onto a beach. I met a girl without a face but I still knew she was beautiful someway ... we played on the beach and the sand was so tan and warm.

I woke up and almost felt like I was in love. I was lucid at first, but lost my control after I phased through. I was sad it was just a dream.

Hi Alissa,

you asked about meditation in LD. I already tried, but not recently. And it had something do with flying, so maybe you're interested in. Some years ago I was flying over the valley where I live in a LD. As always in flying over this valley in my dreams, the sun rises and the air is slightly cold and refreshing. As I had this dream very often, one time I was a little bored and thought about what to do next. Then it came to me to meditate. I took a lotus seat in midair - which I unfortunate can't do comfortably while waking. :D Then I tried to think of nothing at all. There was the sun in front of me and then somehow it was also inside of me. It was a strong and beautiful experience. Now that I think of it, a could try do do it again...

I also once in another LD had the feeling of being pulled upward. It continued for some time. Then suddenly for a moment I felt that I understand the whole universe, and that I could write it down if only I had something to write. The next moment, I was wide awake and all the knowledge about everything gone, yet it was also one of my most impressive LD. But to be honest, right afterwards I was really scared. For I thought, well, that can't be normal to have such feeling, even while sleeping. Perhaps I'm going mad. :o But this dream was some years ago and as far as I can see, I didn't go mad...

Have beautiful dreams, Toby

I get the feeling of being pulled up in a LD quite ofter ( a few times a year) and it used to be filled with dread until I learned to just go with it and see where I end up. I also wonder if it SP within a dream

The imagination plays a big role in our lives however I suppose that by imaging something we go away from the present real life

Personally, I just put on a red cape and I'm airborne. Of course, that's probably just the nerd in me surfacing. :P

When I was younger I needed to Jump and do a flip to start flying. I may have to make things more interesting now though. Maybe Ill try something like Iron man... hahaha

Sweet!

My best way of flying is imagining a very strong wind pushing me to the direction I want to go, I never failed to fly using this technic :D sometimes it gets me to incredible speed :D

I just had my first LD after actually trying to. I joined this forum yesterday, downloaded a few different ld apps on my android phone, put headphones on, and went to sleep. I'm not really sure if it was one of the alarms, binaural beat, or just my mind hoping to get another chance to fly. Either way, I all of the sudden, knew I was dreaming and wasted no time, as soon as that thought hit me, I lifted off slowly, and had a hard time getting speed but I remember thinking, I am in control, nothing else, and I looked up, I saw a lot of stars, but a small circle of stars caught my eye and I just looked at them and put my hands towards them and thought, FASTER!!! and I took off straight towards these lights and after what seemed like about half way, I slowed down and looked down and wanted to scream to celebrate finally achieving flight, but I was hesitant because I was afraid the government might hear me and arrest me or even worse, scramble fighter jets to shoot me down, but I told myself, they cannot catch you, you are in control. So I tried to let out the loudest scream of my life, but my voice was slightly off. I then shot back towards the ring of star looking lights, and accidentally went to far. While still flying yet slowing a little, I found myself turning over and looking back down on this ring of stars and suddenly, I past a few layers of different colors of air, or gas and I was in space. I immediately decided I was too far out and flew down a little into the atmosphere of dark, night time earth and decided to try to see how far I could go. I came down after a few minutes because I was cold. I came down in a small city over a liquor store. I saw a man carrying a package to his car, so I decided to mess with him so I yelled, hey! He looked up and said what the hell??? I said, " I'm Superman!" no kidding . He said, where's your uniform? I said, this is my new one. Which were just regular clothes. He then asked me how much I weigh, I said around 300 but it's not fat, and out of anger, I tried to fly away but decided to touch him first, I touch him on the shoulder and then he could float but neither of us could fly. I told him it was because I had touched him and my flight power was now divided between us and it was not enough to fly, just float and that we would have to sleep there for the night and would be able to fly away in the morning. We floated to the roof of the liquor store and I woke up. I'm not sure how I was able to reach lucidity but either way, I am hooked, and I am going to dive deeper into LD and hopefully log many more sky miles. LOL

I fly like an angel I guess With the right foot in line with the area of knee cap and my arms waving freely.

I don't know if that's flying since I think it was more of a hover technique

But I flew(Super-man like) In my recent dream tho.

I fly by running as fast as I can, and then jumping. I sorta float everywhere. when I float to the ground again, I repeat. I'm like a frog, jumping everywhere, but in slow motion. :D

~ You've reached the end. ~
